Bergen Street Fest Bulletin: Philanthropy at the Cornerstone of BSF
Updated: Aug 15, 2019

Hello! Welcome to our Bergen Street Fest Bulletin, a little blog project imagined to bring the fun of BSF right to your inbox. We’re only 37 days away from this year’s Fest so we wanted to share some of the exciting new things to come, as well as reflect back on years past. The mission of BSF has always been one surrounding community, inclusion, great food, and local flavor. It would not be possible without the many hands that come together and work for months beforehand. While these many hands create an event that is exciting and exuberant, they also create an event that gives back to the very communities they entertain.
Over the past two years, Bergen Street Fest has partnered with philanthropic organizations to support and bolster their missions. Each fall, organizations are hand-chosen based on excellence and need and this year is no different. Last year, you helped to raise over $7,000 dollars for our community partners at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, and International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). This money raised helped researchers work towards a cure, veterans find resources in their area, and countries and cities affected by disaster receive aid. The philanthropic aspect of Street Fest has always been at the cornerstone of our mission as we feel called to give back to those around us.
This year, we will be partnering once again, with St. Jude and IOCC. We are also excited to welcome and partner with the Rutgers University Center for Adult Autism. The center is committed to offering adults with autism a one-of-a-kind support system designed to make an independent and fulfilling life possible. As it is an underserved population, volunteers hope to present, each year, a new group of graduates ready to take on the professional world. We hope you will continue to support these organizations by opening both your hearts and your wallets. It is events like the Bergen Street Fest that make the intersection of fun and philanthropy possible, but it is your generosity that helps create a better tomorrow.
